A mass meeting of Victorian seamen endorsed the resolution carried by the Sydney branch of tho union to tie up all inter-Stato vessels on July 14. Tho meeting also resolved that every effort should bo made to harass tho Government should it attempt to deport any unionist. A protest was made against the imprisonment of Noel Lyons in Now Zealand, and the executive of the union was given power to take stops to have him released. A GENERAL HOLD-UP. SYDNEY, July 8. (Received July 8, at 9.10 p.m.) It is the general opinion in Victorian shipping circles that there will be a complete hold-up of all inter-State shipping within the next six days. BRISBANE, July 8. The Disputes Committee ot tho transport group, togethei with delegates from the Federated Marino Unions, with tho Minister of Labour (Mr J. M. Baddeley), conferred in on effort to settle the Mort s Dock dispute, and decided to send a delegation to Mi Lang on Wednesday, with a view to securing a conference with the management. Both sides state that they are hopeful of a settlement.
