FIGHT WITH A SHARK
A FISHERMAN’S EXPERIENCE.
BOAT DRAGGED TO OPEN SEA.
Prege ABBOciation—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, July 8.
A man fishing from a small boat in the Sussex Inlet hooked a 12ft siiark, which headed for the open sea, dragging the boat with great rapidity. A choppy sea which was running made the position dangerous, but the fisherman hung on. The fight with the monster continued far an hour and a-half, till, fearing that he would be swamped as the boat was dragged through the increasing waves, the fisherman finally out loose. The water was then too rough Jot him to row back, and the boat was drifting further seaward, when he was picked up by a passing steamer. The man was then almost exhausted.
