MRS COOLIDGE MOBILISES BRUSH AND DUSTER. WASHINGTON, June 5. President Coolidge has declined invitations to speak to the graduates of 20 colleges, where he would receive more than 20 honorary degrees. He said he would not accept unearned honours. ’ Mrs Coolidge has made plans personally to superintend her annual housecleaning, while the President is on his summer vacation.
Congress itas voted 50,C00d0l (about £10,000), which will be spent on kitchen plumbing, draperies for the public rooms, new rugs, and interior painting and repairing of White House.
