KARL JASCHKE

A SUCCESSFUL BARBER. LONDON, June 3. The late Mr Charles Jaschko. the Rumanian, who was formerly barber to the late King Edward, left an estate worth £51,000. Tie arrived in London with only sixpence in his pocket. Ho opened a small shop in Brewer street, which afterwards became the resort of Surope’s crowned heads. It is not to bo assumed that. Mr Jaschke opened the shop with the sixpence or that the monarclis of Europe made special trips to London to let him cut their hair. Kings, ns a matter of fact, do not use the barber’s shop as a “ resort,” but Karl, like most foreigners in Britain, made “ every post a winning post.” obtained a job with a barber, and alternately made the hair oil that, kings were supposed to flock from Central Europe to buy.
