KREISLER.
The interest in the preferential box plan now open at the Bristol for Kroislor, who is generally acclaimed as the world's greatest living violinist, is exceeding an ticipations, and glowing reports are also being received from the other centres of the dominion whore Kreisler is to appear. The Dunedin recital on Tuesday, June 16, will be given in His Majeszty’s Theatre under the direction of E. J. Carroll. The coming of Kreisler will bo an eveqi of much significance. For many years ho hug held undisputed sway in two continents as a master of the violin, whoso qualities are visualised by a magnetic charm and warmth of feeling, added to a deep insight as an interpretative artist. Mnnv of Kreislcr’s works have been arranged for him for the violin, for in this field and as a composer he has established a notable reputation. Kreisler hag written music for string quartets, and ho may well be regarded as the discoverer of a store of Italian literature of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries for the violin. He is an artist who wilt appeal to the great multitude of modern music-lovers to whom he is familiar, not onlv through his numerous gramophone records, hut by a number of his compositions that rank amongst the most popular in the repertory of the great violinists of to-dny. Ag it is unlikely that Kreisler will ever again be heard in Dunedin advantage should be taken of this one opportunity of hearing this pre-eminent artist.
