INFANTILE PARALYSIS

POSITIVE CASE AT GORE. The District Health Officer advises that a positive of infantile paralysis—a girl of eight years—was admitted to t!;e Gore Hospital on Friday evening. No fresh cases were reported in Dunedin City or suburbs on Saturday or yesterday. TIMARU CASES. (Per United Press Association.) TIMARU, June 5. After a period of immunity from the disease, infantile paralysis has reappeared here. There is a positive case (a little pirll in Timarti, and a suspected case from Pareora. These were admitted to tho public hospital to-night. STATISTICS COMPILED. Tho Alny Abstract of Statistics gives details of the deaths from infantile paralysis during the recent epidemic. The first death from the disease occurred at Wellington on December 3, 1924. From that date to Alarch 31, 1925, 143 deaths were registered as being due to causes classified under the heading of acute anterior polimyelitis (infantile paralysis).
