HOCKEY.
LADIES’ TOUE-NET. The annual seven-a-side ladies’ hockey tournament was played yesterday on the Caledonian Ground and the Oval. The weather was ideal for the games, and play for the most paid was fast' and interesting, the hockey being of a high standard. The entries this year were very good, six teams entering for the A Grade and 2S teams for the B Grade. All of the 102 games wore played to scheduled time, and the general arrangements reflected great credit on both the executive and the referees. A largo number of enthusiasts watched the games at the Caledonian Ground during the afternoon. The tournament was controlled at the Caledonian Ground by Misses White, Campbell, Hill, and Nelson, and at the Oval by Mrs Nelson, Misses Holmes, Brockie, and Anderson. The referees were:—A Grade — Messrs Gray, Martin, Fogo, and Smith; B Grade—Messrs Hinton, Wallace, Hewitt, Woodfield, Butler, Henty, Smith, and Miller.
