MANCHESTER UNITY.

The Loyal Caversham Lodge was presided over by N.G. Bvo. IV. Gilliand, and there was a good attendance. One member was initiated. E.S. Bro. M'Donaid and ->.G. Bro. Gilliand wore elected delegates to the annual Ball Committee. A circular regarding hospital beds was read and briefly commented on, the full discussion being adjourned. A discussion took place on the formation of a ladies’ lodge, several brothers speaking to the report of the committee. The report was referred hack to be brought up again at the next quarter night. It was decided to hold a ladies’ progressive euchre party tho following lodge night. A card match was hold with Loyal Albion * Lodge, resulting in a win for Caversham by 14 games to 10. The toast of the visitors was responded to by Loyal Centenary and Loyal Albion. , Tho monthly official visit to the Loyal Albion Lodge was largely attended by representatives of many lodges and the District Executive. During the evening a resolution was carried—" That this representative gathering of Manchester Unity Oddfellows place on record its sincere regret at the death of our distinguished Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey.” P.G. Bro. A. .1. Smith reported on dispensary matters. The harmony of the evening was contributed to by Bros. G. Clark, Gilliand, H. Bond, A. Sligo, .1. Mitchell, and T. White. Responses to tho visitors’ toast were made by Loyal Centenary Valley, Caversham, Dunedin. Hand and Heart, and also by a brother from Timaru. Prov. G.M. Bro. A. Wylie, U.P.G.M. Bro. G. Clarke, P.P.G.M. Bro. B. H. Roseveare, and Prov. Treasurer Bro. A. Sligo responded on behalf of the executive. The officers of Loyal Centenary Lodge were gratified by tho large attendance at their social and dance held at Forbury Hall, Inis being the first occasion for some years which such a function has been attempted by the lodge. Some TO couplet took part in the gathering. The music was contributed by In orchestra led by Mr Kennedy, and proceedings went with a swing. Loyal Kakanui Lodge celebrated its anniversary by holding a dance in the Coronation Hall. Kakanui. It was largely attended by members and their friends. Per. Sec. *>ro. IV. Couper and P.G. Bro H. Keen represented Oamaru Lodge, while P.P.G.M. Bro. ,T. A. Robson and P.G. Bro. C. II atsori, of Dunedin, were also in attendance. During the evening some musical items were rendered .
