PIGEON FLYING.

The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew the final race of the 193-1-25 season with a flock race on Saturday from -Timaru, an airline distance of 108 miles. The birds put up a good fly against a southerly wind all the way, and the winner landed his fourth consecutive win. The birds were liberated at 11.30 a.m. and the winner timed in at 2.12 p.m., making her flying time 2hrs 42min for the journey. Mr Andrews (stationmaster) liberated 81 birds, representing 11 lofts, with the following result in yards per minute: G. Coutt’s Lady Eleanor, 1169, 1; S. Lynn’s Riga. 1163. 2; Stevenson anti Hargreaves's Effort, 1162, 3; C. Conley's Follow On, 1162, 1; L. AVest’s Can’t Stop, 1161, 5. Birds were also flown by A. Fraser, J. Monk, J. Scoullar, F. Jones, E. Diehl, A. Gillam, K. Parker, J. Still, and AV. Douglas.
