ATTACKED BY a BULL. (Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, May 11. An elderly Native named Rawiri Teeke, aged 76, died from injuries which he received through being gored by a bull. A mob of cattle was being driven along a road. The bull, which was lagging behind, charged Teeke. and inflicted severe injuries tp his cheat. FOUND DEAD IN SHOP. (Per United Press Association.) GORE,. May 11. George A. Watson, married, aged _ 50, who had been missing from his home since Friday, was'fcuna dead in his shop at Mataura yesterday. It is presumed that the cause of death was heart failure. The deceased was apparently _ writing at his desk at the time of his ’ death, and had locked the shop. He told his wife he was going to a job in the country.

INJURED AT FOOTBALL. (Per United Press Association.! AUCKLAND. May 11. In the match Grafton and Ponsonby, Cooke, the All Black, injured the cartilage of his knee. Foster dislocated his collarbone. and Stichbury had two ribs fractured. WELLINGTON, May 11. Three players were injured at football on Saturday. One Soccer member broke a small bone in his leg, and another sustained a badly-hurt knee. A Rugby player fractured his right leg.

A FARMER’S DEATH. (Per United Press Association.! TIMARU, May. 11. Henry Baker (56), a farmer, of Levels Valley, was found dead in one of his paddocks on Sunday afternoon. At tho inquest to-day, evidence showed that deceased had been rounding up cattle and suddenly expired from heart failure. A verdict was returned accordingly. QUARRYMAN INJURED. Tony Kaine, aged 38 years, and employed by the City Corporation as a foreman quarryman at Tainui, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday afternoon suffering from severe injuries to his face. The injuries were caused through a charge of dynamite exploding prematurely. TWO WORKMEN INJURED. IFn United Press Association.! AUCKLAND. May 11. A hydraulic lift nearing completion in the Wandsworth Buildings, Anzac avenue, was ascending when it fell from the third floor about 40 feet to the basement. The passengers were Peter Sinclair, a carpenter, and William Civil, foreman. Sinclair received slight concussion, injuries to his foot, and a severe shaking, and was admitted to the hospital. Civil, who was treated in the casualty ward, received a fractured ankle and a shaking. STILL UNCONSCIOUS. (Per United Press Association.) MASTERTON, May'll. C. Cardno, a commercial traveller, formerly of Auckland, who was found unconscious on the road near Carterton on Friday night, is still in a critical condition in the Masterton Hospital.
