DIGESTION AND CLOTHING.
Warm clothing has more to do with pro venting and relieving attacks of indigestion than is generally known. Often people who don’t suffer at other times are attacked in cold, damp weather, and resort to pills, powders, or potions, attributing the trouble to some article of food, when a chill is responsible. Those parts of the .body which are peculiarly susceptible to cold—the back of the neck, the stomach, and <.uc feet—should be well protected; a coat with a good high collar, or a scarf, a body-belt of flannel, woven or knitted silk or wool, should be parts of our everyday outfit for cold, wet, or oast-windy months; gait.ers or cloth spats protect feet and ankles, and it goes without saying that boots and shoes must be sound and capable of keeping out wot.
