FALSE PRETENCES.
NURSE’S BAD RECORD. THREE MONTHS’- IMPRISONMENT. (Peh United Peebs Association.) AUCKLAND, January 9. In the Police Court. Margaret Beatrice Brodio was convicted on seven charges of obtaining money and goods by false pretences, and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Mr Poynton, S.M_, said it was puzzling tc, know how a woman with such a bad record could get charge of two separate cottage hospitals in this country within a short time of completing a sentence in Australia for fraud. Sentence on, the other chargee would he deferred. If accused could cot bo deported she would oome up and receive a longer sentence, if possible, in the interests of the community.
