Margaret Beatrice Brodio was convicted on seven charges of obtaining money and goods by false pretences, and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Mr Poynton, S.M_, said it was puzzling tc, know how a woman with such a bad record could get charge of two separate cottage hospitals in this country within a short time of completing a sentence in Australia for fraud. Sentence on, the other chargee would he deferred. If accused could cot bo deported she would oome up and receive a longer sentence, if possible, in the interests of the community.
