NASEBY NOTES.

(From Otir Own Correspondent.) An error was inadvertently made in my notes on. New Year’s Day sports. The winner of the Sheffield and medal was Forrester, and not Jones, as stated. Tho committee of the Caledonian Society is gratified with the success which attended tho sports, and the substantial balance now hold. It is confidently anticipated that next year’s programme will he still more attractive. More than 100 cars were on the sports ground on New Year's Day, and a conse, rvativ« estimate places the value at .£25,000. The wisdom of the committee in admitting cars without extra charge was proved hy the number which entered, all of them full of passengers who paid tho usual admission fee. Tho largo increase in tire number of cars speaks volumes for tho progress and wealth of tho district. Saturday last witnessed the return of a largo number of visitors who have been staying hero for tho holidays. _ There is etill a considerable number of vieitara. The weather is perfect.
