ISSUING VALUELESS CHEQUES

SIX MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT. (Pee United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, November 19. Thomas Charles Williams, with several aliases, appeared before the Magistrates’, Court this morning charged with being an. idle and disorderly person. Accused waa further charged on three counts with obtaining money fraudulently by means of valueless cheques for amounts totalling £3O. On the first two charges accused pleaded guilty, and on the third charge he was remanded to appear at Napier on November 27, The first charge of being an idle and disorderly person was withdrawn. i Accused was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on each of the two charges, the sentences to be cumulative.
