PORT CHARMERS ACTIVITIES.

TO THE E’OITOB.

Sib., —I notice a letter in Wednesday’s Daily Times, the writer of which says that Port Chalmers is dead and getting deader. I think this must be the case with the people of Port Chalmers, or they would never let their council go on with costly schemes at the dictation of one of their employees. If anything is required of the nature that is contemplated, the residents should insist on the council looking up its records and adopting Professor Scott’s scheme. If the people of Port do not wake up they will find themselves plunged further into debt. — I am, etc., Look Out. Sawyers’ Bay, October 23.
