- -«ia» To-morrow night at His Majesty’s Theatre will see the first apearance here of the J. O. Williamson World-famed Entertainers. The firm have been a recognised standard for the best in musical comedy, opera, and drama, and now in this new avenue of amusement their agents in different parts of tho world have selected only the “top notchers.” The new company opening to-morrow night is headed by the famous English character impersonator, Bransby Williams, whose Dickens characterisations have made his name a household word throughout the British Isles. Bransby Williams, in such well-known rolls as “Mioawber,” “Grandpapa Smallweed,” “Bill Sikes,” “Dan’l Peggoty,” “Montague Tigg,” etc., has endeared himself to ‘theatre-goers throughout the world. Supporting the star are tho seven Hadjo Kadir troupe of Arabs, whose act in Australia was recognised as rivalling the sensational turn provided by Long Tack Sam. A famous English comedy duo are Anna and Louis, whoso act, an eccentric musical mixup, is said to Be the “limit of absurdity.” The character damo and the girl, Arthur Luoan and Kitty M'Shane, stage a riotous scene, “Come Over.” A Sydney critic says, “Nothing funnier has ever been seen on the Australian stage.” Solange Landry and Julia dp a bright routine of English, modem, and French dances. An English act of musical comedy is that of Ward and Long. W. V. Robinson is described as an original reoonteur. The “harpist and melody supremo” is tho act of George Castles and Torzillo. A special orchestra is under the baton of Mr Arthur Frost. The scenery and effects will be on the usual lavish Williamson scale. The box plans are at the Bristol, and the booking snows every indication of a bumper house to welcome this company of world's star artists. .The company has just finished most successful soasops, in Wellington and Christchurch. ’The first matinee will be held on Monday next (Labour Day), when special matinee prices will be charged.
