YESTERDAY’S PROCEEDINGS LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. (Abridged from Press Association Telegram.) WELLINGTON, October 23. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. to-day LOCAL BILLS. The New Plymouth Harbour Board Empowering Bill, tho South Invercargill Borough Wards Validating Bill, and the Auckland Harbour Board Loan and Em powering Bill were reported from the Local Bills Committee without amendment, put through their final stages, and passed. MOTOR VEHICLES BILL. The Motor Vehicles Bill was road a second time, and after the committee stag© progress was reported and leave was given to sit again. BILLS PASSED. The Poultry Bill. North Shore Borough (Auckland) Water Supply Bill, Auckland City Abattoir Bill, and Peten© Borough Streets Bill wore put through their final stages and passed without further amendment. PETITIONS. The Council passed motions recommending to the Government’s favourable consideration the petition of R. T. Esther and consideration of tho petition of J. B. Andrew and others. The Council adjourned at 4.20 p.m. until 8 p.m. to-morrow.
