The rebellion in Afghanistan, which was led by the pretender to the Amir’s throne, has been suppressed after heavy fighting by tho Government troops, which have burned many villages and taken other punitive measures. The pretender is taking refuge with a friendly tribe. The casualty lists throughout the operations have been extremely heavy on both sides, as in all tribal warfare no quarter is shown. —Sydney Sun Cable.
