THE EXISTENCE OP SIN.
TO THE EDITOIi. Sir, —I crave apace for a few lines on this important subject, not to enter upon a controversy, but because ho many pepole have been misled by the specious reasoning just now being widely disseminated, and 1 would like to ask those of your readers who may be in danger of being so misled a few simple questions. We are indebted to the lady whose letter in your columns of today so fairly states the position from the Christian Science sidt, for unveiling thai position, and, let me say, wo are indebted to Mr Cook, too, for his letter which called forth that lady's reply, and my questions are baaed on that reply. 1. How can that be "Christian" which is in direct opposition to the very words of tho Ijord Jesus Christ Himself? 2. How can that be "science" which is opposed to the every-day experience of nearly every man and woman on earth? 3. Is not "murder" sin? Is not lying ein? Is not slahd-er sin? 4. Do these things, and many others, not exist? Or, to use the lady's own words, have they not a real existence? —I am, etc., Jno. A. D. Adams. Maori Hill. October IS.
