CONGREGATIONAL SUNDAY SCHOOL
PRESENTATION OF 1 PRIZES. The annual presentation of prizes and entertainment in connection with the Congregational Sunday Schools’ Union was held On Friday night in Jubilee Hall, View street. Mr W. R. Sinclair presided oyer a large gathering, associated with him being the Revs. A. H. Wallace, W. Saunders, and W. Grant. Items were given by representatives of all the looal affiliated Sunday schools. The prize list was as follows: Grade 3 (ages 10 to 12 years).—First prizes: Hamish Worsfold (Gore), ICO per cent.; Molly Archibald (Moray Place), 85; Muriel Burrows (Gore), 83; Isobel Seelye (Moray Place), 80: Elsie Lawson (Port Chalmers), 80; Elwin Mullinger {Ravensbourne), 75. Second" prizes: Joan M’Gill (Moray Place), 73; Frank Dyer (United), 73; Joan Meffin (Moray Place), 70; Joan Finch (Gore), 68; Allan Bone (Moray Place), 64; Jim Henderson (Moray Place), 64; Essie Bray (Port Chalmers), 53; Willie Connor (Ravensboumo), 65; Jim Connor (Ravensbourne), 65. Second prizes: Lionel Colvin (United), 74; Leonie Sawyer (Port Chalmers), 72; George Austin (United), 68; Lawson Burrows (Gore), 64; Vernon Smith (Moray Place), 62; Rita Stewart (Gore), 58. Senior Grade (over 16 years). Lois Colvin (United), 76 per cent., 1; Nancy Fraser (United), 70 per cent., 2. 1 Essay: Betty Archibald (Moray Pace), 90 per cent., 1; Janet Meffin (Moray Place), 85; Doris Eberhardt (Moray Place), 75; Myra Flams (Moray Place), 66; Margaret Seelye (Moray Place), 60, 2. The shield for the highest aggregate was won by Moray 3?lao© Sunday School, Goro being runners-up. The shield has been won as follows; Port Chalmers twice, Gore three times, Ravensbourne three times, Moray p] aCO twiCG, A message of greeting was sent by the assembled schools to the president of the union (Mr J. A, Wilkinson), who is at present in the Old Country. A vote of thanks was accorded the examiner (Mr Oliver Begg), and tribute was also paid to the good work of the secretary (Miss Vera Hall).
