AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the Otago Centre N.Z.A.A.A. waa held at the Y.M.C.A. on Wednesday night. Mr E. L. Macassey occupied the chair. A donation of £1 was forwarded by Mr W. -L Hooper towards the expenses of the Dunedin-Port Chalmers road race. —Received with thanks. A letter waa received from tho New Zealand Council suggesting that the funds for a memo'fill shield to the late G. P. Keddcll should ba raised by Otago and Southland. The shield should he awarded to the winner of the 120 Yards Hurdles at the New Zealand championships.—The centre decided to approve of the shield, and suggested that fciie money should be raised throughout New Zealand. Mr Rolfe reported forfjthe sub-committee appointed to go into the question of the New Zealand standards, that it disapproved nf the standards for the Three Mile and 120 Yards Hu die races and the Hammer Throw and Putting the Shot.—lt was decided lo send the report on to the council. It waa decided to oend the centre’s congratulations to the Otago cross-country team, which won the New Zealand Championship, and also to those who helped to entertain the team at Wellington. The following were appointed a sub-com-mittee for the sports meeting to be held in October. —Messrs Roll'e, Thompson, M‘Kenzie, Clark, Wills, Bradley, List, Pimley, and Beatson; secretary, Mr M'Kcrnan. A vote of thanks accorded Mr M’Kernan for the able manner in which he had managed the Otago cross-country team, and also to Messrs Breen and Crawford for their assistance.
