FATE OP MR IRA SPARKES. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. MANILA, August 17. The sailing boat Dauntless, from Honolulu, was picked up on the Mindanao coast. There was no trace of Mr Ira Sparkes, the American religious enthusiast, who recently continued his voyage singlehanded from here to Singapore cn route for Palestine. He is believed to have been drowned.—A. and N.Z. Cable. Mr Ita Sparkes, who sailed from Honolulu last winter in the 20ft boat Dauntless, arrived at the Philippines in April last, after voyaging for 75 days without sighting land.
