GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (Ltd.) report: Oats.—There is still a strong inquiry for good bright linos suitable for seed purpose*. Indications point to latecomers having to use Canadians, as offerings from the country have now ceased. Wo quote: A Cartons, 6e; B Gartens, 5s 9d, sacks extra. Chaff.—The market remains firm. Offerings are gradually getting fewer and fewer, and we can probably look for an increase in value at any time now. Wo quote £8 6« per ton for prime, ex truck, sacks extra. Wheat. —The seed demand is now practically finished, but any surplus is quickly snapped up by poultry feeders at the same rates. We quote 6s 6d bushel, good whole, sacks extra. Potatoes. —Northern potatoes are still the ma:n factor in market quotations. Tateri and Stirling grown are now getting scarce, and always command a tetter value than the imrther is. Wo quote -t’G to £0 I.oa for northern grown, sacks in. Messrs Dalgety and Co. vLtd ) report: Oats.—-Owing to paucity of offerings prao Orally no business is passing in this market. Bright, heavy samples, suitable for seed, aro inquired for, and nominal quotations are as follow ;—A Cartons, Gs; B Gartons, Es 9d per bushel, sacks extra. Wheat—Fowl wheat it in veffy short supply, and some difficulty is being experienced in filling tho keen demand. The value of good whole fowl wheat ia round about 6s 6d net bushel, sacks extra. Potatoes.—Consignments from the north have eased, eu'. merchants are holding fair stocks, and values aro on a par with late rates. Choice hues of southern grown are realising up to £6 10a per ten, sacks extra. Chaff. —Supplies have eased, but as feeders are holding fair stocks, values have not altered. Prime quality is saleable at up to £8 5a per ton, sacks extra, but medium and inferior is alow of sale at from £7 to £7 10s per toi}. LONDON MARKETS. Messrs Da'gety and Co. (Ltd.) report having received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, August 15, 1924; Butter: Since our last wire prices are higher by 4s to 6a per cwt.
