OTAGO EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE.

A meeting of the Committee of Management of the Otago Educational Institute was held on Saturday morning, and wag presided over by Mr R. K. Hunter. The executive of the Xcw Zealand Educational institute, in a letter to the branch, brought forward tho question of the limitation of appointments to head tcacherships of Grade’ 3A and upwards. After a full discussion a motion was passed expressing disagreement with the resolution which had been recently affirmed by the Council of Education on this matter. Miss Sullivan introduced a remit regarding the election of delegates to the annual conference. Correspondence containing expressions of (he views of (he sub-branches concerning (his question was read by the (secretary. It was resolved that a- sub-eom-mittce consisting of Mr G. Palmer, Miss L. Sullivan, and the secertary bo cot up to consider tho procedure for the election of delegates. The secretary’s action was approved, and it was decided to make a grant of 5s towards the expenses of (ho it was unanimously decided to ask Mr J. A. Moore, M.A., of the Training College, to continue, as the institute's delegate on the W.E.A. Council. Correspondence was read from the \> omen Teachers’ Association and the Assistant Masters’ Association requesting that efforts be made to remove the injut.ee done to original members of the superannuation fund by Nile non-recognition of Training College nervine.
