(Received August 13, at 5.5 p.m.) At the inquest on Captain Geddes and his wife (who were found dead in their flat some days ago) the coroner returned a verdict of suicide. Evidence was produced that the deceased while in London lived beyond their income, despite liberal advances by the India Office. Captain Geddes was £4oo in debt, mostly on account of hunting expenses. He was mentally unstrung and possessed a suicidal tendency. lather had also committed suicide. There was uo evidence of a death pact between Captain Geddes and his wife.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
