(Received August 13, at 7.10 p.m.) Sterling has reached 4.532 dollars, representing an overnight decline of three cents. The Continental exchange remained stationary. Observers anticipate a renewed advance of sterling.—A. and N;Z. Cable. THE EGG MARKET. •The following cablegram has been received by Messrs Fraser and Co. from their London agents; Irish new-laid eggs, IBs 6d to 17s 3d per 130 eggs. Market inquiries are coming to hand for New Zealand eggs. FRUIT EXPORT TRADE. The Otago Provincial Fruitgrowers’ Council (Ltd.) advise receipt of the following week-end cablegram from the High Commissioner:— Oddments from. Arawa and Raranga are being cleared up. The balance of tho Otago consignment is still held and is in good condition. The sales are slow at from 15s to 20s per case. PROPERTY SALE. Messrs Francis, Sellars, and Co. offered for sale by auction yesterday part section 78, block 32, containing 24.34 poles, with an eight-roomed residence thereon, situated at 786 George street. The property was eventually passed in, the highest bid being £2050. EABBITSKIN SALES. The Dunedin Stock Agents and Woolbrokers’ Association (Todd Bros., Dalgety and Co., Otago Farmers’ Co-op. Association, D. Reid and Co., N.Z. Loan Co., Stronach, Morris, and Co., Wright, Stephenson, and Co., National Mortgage and Agency Co.) report as follows;—The usual fortnightly sale was held on Tuesday last, when larige catalogues were again submitted to a full attendance of buyers.
