BOXING.
THE -PROFESSIONAL CONTESTS. Two professional boxing contests will be staged at His Majesty’s TReatro on 'Wednesday next. The star attraction is the 15roun d fight for a purse of fI7O (including expenses) between the well-known Australian light-weight champion, Tommy Fail-hall, and the popular Frenchman, Eugene Volaire. A preliminary professional content of 10 rounds will be staged for a purse of .£25 between Andy Alforda, an Australian welter, and liachio M’Dnnald, the well-known cxAnstralian and Now Zealand amateur welter champion. Alfords and M’Ponald arc looking fit and going strong; in fact, both lads are undergoing special training in preparation for what is believed will he a stirring battle. Both rides arc pretty confident of victory. M'Doneld has great staying powers, and is a vastly improved boxer, while Alfords eecins to be a glutton for fight, and is most enthusiastic in his work. The box plan will be opened at the Bristol cm Monday morning, and the early-door tickets will be available on Tuesday at Jacobs’s.
