(Received June iU, at 10.55 p.m.) A strike of municipal labourers for an increase of pay developed into a riot in which Corporation property was destroyed. The mob attacked the police, and reinforcements arrived. Finally the police were compelled to fire on the rioters, killing two and wounding several. The military were called out, and the rioters then dispersed.—Reuter.
