The Sunday Express’s Paris correspondent states that Madame Fahmy iold a magistrate that she never knew Cassab Bey until he wrote to her from Cairo, offering her £120,000 from her husband’s fortune. Later he increased his offer to £640,000. Then he came to Paris and pestered her with a scheme to make millions by simply registering herself in a nursing home. She refused to do this, but later, with the connivance of the police, she consented to accompany Cassab Bev if the latter found a doctor who was willing to sign a birth certificate.—A. and N.Z.
