LABOUR’S GROWING POWER. (Fsoif Oust Own Corhesponiuint.l WELLINGTON, April 14. Mr Roberts, secretary of the Alliance of Labour, referring to his recent visit to Australia, states that all that is needed for Labour to gain power there is a General Election. Even business men, he says, declare that the” present Federal and State Governments are not handling public affairs satisfactorily in the best interest of the community generally. The farming community is a&o dissatisfied with the Administration of the Federal 'Government and the State Government of New South Wales, and it is doubtful whether either of these Governments can rely upon the support of the Country Party any longer. This is borne out by the results of the recent elections in South Australia and Western Australia. As • *’ matter of fact the Labour movement did not expect each good results in either oi these States. Mr Roberts’s statement is generally confirmed by other recent visitors from Australia, some of whom are not at all in sympathy with the aims of the Labour Party.
