ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

REFEREES’ < 1/UB The annual -meeting of the Association Football Referees’ Club was held m Mr S. S. Myers’s rooms last night. Mr W Fleming (president) occuped the chair, and there wore about 20 members present. Mr G. E. Bollock wrote expressing a desire to resign from the club as he woiild not be able to devote attention to Association football during ihc season.—lt was decided that the resignation be not accepted owing to the valuable service's hitherto rendered by Mr Pollock. In moving the adoption of the annual report, the chairman congratulated members on the manner in which they had kept their appointments last season, thus maintaining the good name of the club and assisting to promote the welfare of the game. He hoped the coming season would be a prosperous one, and that all the members would do everything possible to enable further progress to be made. He wished to express the thanks of the club to Mr Myers for his kindness in placing a room at their disposal. The report was adopted. The elect ion of 'office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mr W. Fleming; vice-president.s--Mcsars M'Callnm and Smith; secretary, Mr Fulton Rutherford; Appointments Committee —Messrs Prown and Fogarty; Examination Board—Messrs M’Calliim. Rutherford, Smith. Kohortson. and Pollock ; Social Committee—Messrs Fogarty, Rutherford, and James; representative on the New Zealand Referees’ Chib, Mr Fordham ; representative on the Otago Football Association, Mr Rutherford. The Chairman extended a hearty welcome to Mr Milhurn representing the Otago Football Association. Mr Milhurn expressed the indebtedness of the O.F.A, to the Referees’ Club for the valuable assistance it had rendered in fostering the game. He believed that a tour by a Chinese team was a certainty, and there was n good prospect of a Canadian team also visiting New Zealand. If these tours eventuated there would be a big season ahead. Three full grounds had been secured at one of the tram termini, and these would bo got ready witnout delay. He hoped to secure some new members for I lie club shortly. The question of arranging a match against the Seacliff Club was left to the secretary.
