CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
MARINE ENGINEERS’ DISPUTE (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 18. The hearing of the dispute between the Australasian Institute of Marine Engineers and the Union Steam Ship Company concluded before the Conciliation Commissioner to-day. An agreement was reached regarding shipkeeping and vessels out of commission in terms of the company’s proposals. It was agreed, in lieu of Sundavs and holidays, that the chief engineer be paid £4 a month, the second £3 a month, and below second £2 a month. 'the matter o! wages was referred to the Arbitration Court.
