FIREWORKS AND OPEN ENTERTAINMENT.

At the Carisbrook Ground on March 5 a fireworks display and an open-air entertainment will be held. The Amateur Athletic Association will put on several amateur events, including 220 yards, 440 yards, and half-mile races, and there will be a relay race for the pupils of the primary schools and a 220 yards race for the pupils of the secondary schools. The Chinese residents of the city will supply a very at tractive fireworks display and numerous other attractions, which should make up a very interesting entertainment. In connection with this entertainment an art union is being conducted, the tickets for which ■will also admit to the display.
