CITIZENS’ GARDEN FETE.

The annual citizens’ garden fete will be held on March 8 in the Botanical Gardens, and the proceeds will be devoted towanls improving the playing areas on the city recreation reserves. All manner of attractions are being provided, and the fete promises to be a more than usually attractive one. There will be an abundance of band music, dancing displays by the Otago School of Dancing, acrobatic displays by the Otago High School boys, national dancing competitions, poster competitions, and some novel side snows, chutes for the children, and numerous other attractions. There will also be numbers of stalls as well os refreshment ttent. In the evening the Gardens will be brilliantly illuminated. An art union is being held in connection with , the fete, the prizes being gold nuggets valued at £25, £ls, and £lO, and tickets . for these will also admit to the fete.
