RAILWAYS FOR CHINA
NO AGREEMENT WITH BRITISH COMPANY. Ptm Association —By Telegraph—Copyright PEKING, February 20. The Bureau of Economic Information learns from official sources that the Ministries of (Foreign Affairs and Communications have no knowledge of an agreement relative to the construction of three railways in north China. No agreement haa been submitted to any (Minister for consideration. —Reuter. A previous message from Peking stated: A Chinese economic bulletin states that agreements have been reached with the British Hollamby Company for constrncing three railways—from Tsang-chow to Shih-chiach-wang, from Tientsin to Cnfeng (in Mongolia), and from Che-foo to Weih-sein. Wai-Chiao-pu is considering the agreements, which are of a preliminary nature, and involve the raising of a loan of £1,000,000, which it is said will be guaranteed by Anglo-China ventures ifl London.
