The presence of .phosphatic rock in the Clardon district was known many years ago, and about 1902 Mr Win. Ewing conceived the possibility of turning this commodity to commercial uses. After a careful investigation and a complete, analysis had been made, a company called the Ewing Phosphate Company was formed to put the product on the market. The
