The vessels originally nost. 30.000,000 dollars, whereas the selling price was 3,850,000 dollars, the purchaser having 13 years in which to pay. The correspondent declares that the matter has stirred the wrath of Congress, afid Senator Fletcher_ states that he will institute a Senatorial investigation.—A. and N.Z. Cable It was announced in September last that the United States Shipping Board had concluded a contract for the sale of seven combination passenger vessels to the Dollar Line, which planned to use the majority of them in the Pacific service. The chairman of the board refused to disclose the selling price.
