LAWN TENNIS.
STATE SCHOOLS* TOURNAMENT. A tournament conducted by the Slide, Schools’ Sports' Association was hold last Saturday morning on the Lawn Tennis Association court s at Anderson’s Lay. Play was confined to girls’ doubles, for which event 26 entries were received, from Arthur Street (8). Anderson’s Bay (6), Musselburgh (6), Morningtou (3), Kailcorai (2), Green Island (1). Several of the. games were very ■ evenly contested, and the standard of play, especially of those taking part in the semi-final and final games, was, considering the youth of the competitors, of a very high order.
