The northern forces have entered Chung-king, the defenders evacuating the city. There was no fighting and no looting, and the city is quiet.—Reuter. BIG BRISTOL DOCK SCHEME. LONDON, December 10. A dock scheme, to cost £1,000,000, has been approved by the Bristol City Council, involving the construction and equipment of the eastern arm of the Royal Edward Dock at Avonmouth. —A. and N.Z. The King has received a letter threatening to kill His Majesty, the Queen, and the Crown Prince, and to burn Fredcnsborg Castle, where the Royal Family are residing. The police are guarding the castle and searching for the writer. — Reuter. MEXICAN REBELS’ SUCCESS.. MEXICO Clix, December 17. (Received Dec. 1 1, at 10.20 p.m.) The rebels have captured Cautla, bl) miles from Mexico City, and also Puebla, which the Obregon forced evacuated, claiming that the movement was part of the military tactics by which General Obregon expects to overcome the revolution within a few days.—A. and N.Z. The Cabinet has approved of a scheme to reform the provincial administration by means of decentralisation of the English self-government type combined with a close central Government supervision which is regarded as suitable to the Latin temperament.—A. and N.Z.
