The Private Act incorporating the Bank of Otago has duly passed through the Assembly. The Act as nearly as possible resembles that of the Bank of New Zealand. The Otago members, with the exception of Mr Gillies, Mr Wayne, and the Hon. Mr I'd lans, relumed by the Lord Ashley yesterday. On their way down a dinner was given to thorn at Napier by the Superintendent, Mv M’Lean, and a similar compliment wes paid to them, at Christchurch by the Canterbury members. We are glad to learn that the Assembly has voted a sum of L4OOO in aid of tho Exhibition. ARRIVAL OF THE ESCORT. The Gold Escort arrived in town on Tuesday afternoon, bringing gold as follows : ‘ Oz. dwt.
