Mr Basil Cooke, , addressing the Institute of Journalists on wireless, remarked that he was recently tutoring the Victorian police, when ho learned that someone in the underworld had stolen a receiving set, which had so fascinated the circle of crooks that they now spent their leisure hours unravelling the secrets of wireless in . lieu of following criminal careers. Only one policeman was now required to patrol a quarter which previously had demanded all the attention of four. —A. and N.A. Cable.
