Tho march “Slav.’ by r Tschaikowsky, which tho society has only once previously performed, will be repeated, and should also prove a populai selection. The programme also includes Rossini’s popular overture, “William lell.’ and also “March Militaire,” by Lilienau, in which Mr R. Palmer will play the solo ’cello part. Another popular item should be the prelude and Siciliana to the opera “Gavalleria Rusticana,” by Mascagni, the Siciliana being played by Mr T. Maclean (soprano cornet) and Mr W. Smith (horn). Another pleasing item should be tho -“Aye Maria,” by Schubert, in which Mr E. Logie will play the solo cornet. The programme will conclude with the Prologue in Heave , to the opera “Mephistophelcs,” by Boito. which is another item that is always pleasing to Philharmonic audiences.
