At Pretoria the Government entertained Prince Arthur of Connaught at a banquet, at which General Smuts presided. The Prime Minister highly praised Prince Arthur, who, he said, had done everything to advance the interests of South Africa. Prince Arthur of Connaught, in responding, said that he left with the happiest recollections of kindness and ' hospitality everywhere. Me congratulated South Africa, on her great progress in regard to political, fiscal, and racial unity since he first came as a subaltern in the Hussars. ■ Prince Arthur afterwards departed for Durban, where he will embark for England via Suez. —Reuter.
