(Received Dec. 7, at 8.15 p.m.) The police are investigating the remarkable abduction story of Miss Watson, the keeper of a beauty parlour. She. went in for a bathe ip the morning of November 27, and her clothes were found on the beach. She was supposed to be drowned till Wednesday night, vtfhen she reappeared at her house in Sandgate, wearing only a gown over her bathing suit. She stated that she was spirited away by a well-dressed man and women in a motor boat and kept closely confined below. Otherwise she was well treated. After several days’ cruising she managed to escape when the boat reached Sandgate, i 1 NO LIGHT ON THE MYSTERY. BRISBANE, December 7. (Received Dec. 7, at 10.15 p.m.) Miss Watson, besides being the keeper of a beauty’ parlour, writes moving picture stories. The case is surrounded by mystery. No apparent motive is forthcoming for the alleged kidnapping or the cutting short of Miss Watson’s hair by her captors. The police efforts have failed to discover any trace of the kidnappers, their motor boat, or the boat id which Miss Watson is said to have escaped ashore.
