“DICK WHITTINGTON” PANTOMIME.

The “Dick Whittington” Company will open its Dunedin season on Saturday. “Tlie greatest actor in dame parts that Australia lias produced,” is a big tiling to say, but Mr Fama has no hesitation in testifying to that fact in connection with the reputation of his new importation. Mr Ted Stanley, whom, it will be remembered, appeared in this country a few years ago as “Dame” in company with Mies Carrie Moore. In addition to this, Mr Stanley made a wonderful success at the Grand Opera House, Sydney, with George Matlow’s big pantomime, when his work was favourably compared to that of the big English stars. Mr Will Cass, of the vaudeville act known in Australia as “Class and Cass,” although malting his initial appearance in New Zealand, has toured the big centres of Australia for years past, and his name is a household word. Miss Sadie Tilbnm, the principal boy, besides being the ideal “boy.” is the possessor of a fine voice, which she uses most artistically. Frank Cane has been specially engaged as an extra attraction. Lie presents a unique offering embracing studies of coloured shadowgraphy. Ivy Bowment, who plays principal girl, is also making her New Zealand debut under Mr Famn’s management, and is recognised as one of Australia s leading soubrett.es. Little Jackie Cass is a prodigy who has created some stir as a child performer. A beauty ballet and chorus, selected from the principal Australian productions, are a pleasing phase of the pantomime, possessing both voice and terpsichorean ability. The box plans are at the Bristol. To-morrow the plans will be available at the Bristol until noon, after which they will be at the Geyser Confectionery. A matinee for children will be held tomorrow afternoon, commencing at 2.30 o’clock.
