WELFARE OF CHILDREN

CHILD EMIGRATION SOCIETY 1 , A VALUABLE ORGANISATION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyrignt LONDON, November 8. Sir Arthur Lawley, a former Governor of Western Australia, presiding at a luncheon under the auspices of the Child Emigration Society at which the Prince of Wales was present!, detailed the objects and aspirations of the society and outlined the work done in the past, as well as the developments hoped for in the future. The Prince of Wales made an eloquent appeal fol assistance for the society, which, he declared, was devoted to one of the best ideas for retrieving human waste. This was one of the most serious of modern problems, and the society aimed at removing children from the worst to the best conditions. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
