GREEN ISLAND WAR MEMORIAL.

CONCERT IN AID OF FUNDS. The Commercial Travellers’ Entertainers . provided an excellent concert in the Town Hall, Green Island, on Saturday night in aid o£ the local war memorial fund. There was a largo and appreciative audience, and encores were numerous. The club's choir rendered sever! numbers in thoir usual finished manner, and songs were given by Messrs 'T. M’Cellund, Wilhelmson, Price, H. Hogg, W. E. M’Lean, A. S. Cookson, G. Meams, and the Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen’s Association quartet. Mr R. S. VTardrop told a humorous story, cleverly introducing local colour, and Mr A. Holmes contributed a musical monologue. Mr G. J. Scott was iho musical director, and Mr Leslie Burk acted as accompanist. At the conclusion of the entertainment Mr T. Tomkins (Mayor) moved a hearty vote of thanks-to the performers, the motion being carried by acclamation. Mr J. T. -Gillan, secretary of the Entertainers, suiti ably responded.
