DARBY AND JOAN HOME
NEW SALVATION ARMY PROJECT, LONDON, August 19. The Salvation Army intends to open in November a “Darby and Joan” Home near Tunbridge Wells, 'where 20 old couples will end their days in peace. Officials of the Army state that few realise what a great number of poor old folks 'are living together in pitiful circumstance® -whose health would be broken if they were parted, as they would be if they entered the workhouse. The Army also contemplates establishing retreats for lonely old men similar to those already established in Australia and New Zealand-
