(Pub UNirrr> Pess*! Association.) WELLINGTON, May 30. John Nolan pleaded guilty to breaking and entering Sir Francis Bell’s residence at Lowry Bay. He was committed for sentence. AUCKLAND, May 30. Mr J. W. Poynton, S.M., in a considered judgment, dismissed the charge of accessory after the fact against Thomas Lawrence M’Quoid, who was in a motor car with Sydney Murphy (committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter wising out of the death of Mis Sharpies). In tho Supreme Court Robert Coe, charged with fraudulently omitting to account for the moneys of his employers at Dargavillo (15 oha ges), was sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour. CARTERTON, May 30. Two burglaries are reported from Groytown, the promises of W. H. Day (storekeeper), and the Wairarapa Farmers’ Cooperative Association (Ltd.) having been entered. The skylights were forced in the former place, and tho safe attacked unsuccessfully. Two pounds in silver wore taken from tho till of the Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association safe in tho strongroom. A sporting rifle and ammunition were also taken. AUCKLAND, May 39. In tho Supreme Court Benjamin Carter. Government draughtsman, who admitted stealing £232 while working in tho Government Valuation Department hero, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment. George William Sullivan, who advertised for a nursegiii, and got one after another to go to hotels, where he passed them off as his daughters, and incidentally passed valueless cheques totalling about £IOO, was sentenced to two yoarS’ imprisonment.
