THE LEITH FLOOD.

TO THB EDITOR. Sir, —If Mr E. S. Clarke hatl nol asked me two questions I should not have taken the trouble to reply to him. It will be noted that ho conveniently ignores the main question of his attitude to any riparian rights ho may possess. lie still treats this matter with “equivocation and evasion,” and gets on to some questions about his responsibility for damage by the floods. He might as sensibly ask mo (1) If I consider that he was the cause of the tw 0 recent floods; (2) if I consider that he will bo the cause of any future floods. To both of these questions 1 can give the straight-out answer he asks you—No! 'The letter by Mr Geoff. Clarke does not merit any reply.—l am, etc., R. Ferguson.
